- Report of a strong odor of gasoline in the area of the
Mobil Station located at 249 Oakland Road. An
investigation revealed that an undetermined amount of gasoline had
escaped from the station's tanks. The Fire Department
worked into the night to locate and contain the
contamination. The State Department of Environmental
Protection worked with town officials and private contractors to
investigate the source of the problem while private contractors
removed contaminated soil and water from the area. On June 7, 2007,
the Fire Department staged near the station as crews tested the
fuel system. |
