2009 Promotions

On November 23, 2009, the Explorer Post announced the promotion of three officers:

     Explorer Justin Gionfriddo was promoted from Lieutenant to Captain

     Explorer Zak McGuire was promoted to Lieutenant

     Explorer Matthew Faletti was promoted to Lieutenant

The Advisors and members of the Oral Board unanimously promoted Justin, Zak and Matthew to their respective leadership positions after they each passed a written exam and an Oral Board interview.  Congratulations to Justin, Zak and Matthew!

The Advisors would like to thank Captain John Hofmann, President Steve Nodland, and Firefighter Tim Papp for their contribution in conducting the Oral Board interviews and their collective input in appointing these officers.

Calling All Past Members

Company 5 / Explorer Post 838 is attempting to update and maintain a database of all former Explorer members.  If you were a member of Company 5, please send an e-mail to Lt. Scott Fine including your name, what years you were an Explorer and who the advisors/officers were during your term.  Also, did you join the Department or another fire department?  Do you remember the names of any members who were in Explorers with you?  Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
