Training for Tower 1

Driver Training:  Driver training for Tower 1 includes a four-hour classroom session.  Once you complete the class and pass the written exam you may begin on-the-road driver training and platform operation with one of the instructors.  Classes started in September and additional classes will be scheduled in the near future (dates to be announced).

Platform Training:  To operate from the platform controls you must also go through a qualification process, including the four-hour classroom session described above.

Eligibility:  Driver training is open for all Department drivers at all companies.  To become a qualified driver of Tower 1 you must be a current Ladder 7 driver or an engine driver for at least one year.  Platform training is open to all Department firefighters not on probation.

Further details will be discussed at the classroom training, or you may call Captain Hack with any questions.
